The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) has allocated $22m to the Solano Transportation Authority for the proposed improvements to the Interstate 80 corridor in California, US.

The funds allocated will be used to finance environmental assessment and preliminary engineering works for the Interstate 80 corridor in Solano County.

The commitments include $7m for the upgrade of I-80/I-680/State Route 12 interchange in Cordelia, including $15m for construction of carpool and express lanes between Air Base Parkway and Interstate 505.

The projects are part of the commission’s long-range plan for development of a comprehensive express lane network throughout the region.

MTC is the transportation planning, coordinating and financing agency in San Francisco.
