The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) in the US will receive nearly $350m in federal funds to improve highways across the state.

Maricopa county will receive $130m for five projects while Pima county will get $46m for eight projects.

According to ADOT, the other 13 counties will share $175m to carry out 28 projects.

The Arizona Transportation Board recently awarded contracts for 17 highway projects across the state.

These contracts include pavement sealing in northeastern counties of Apache and Coconino in Arizona.

Replacement of the safety fence will be worked out in US 180 project, that stretches from Holbrook to Petrified Forest Road in Navajo County.

Pavement sealing of the SR 277 project in Heber, Navajo County, has also been included in the contract list.
