Construction work has begun on a new $97m South Layton I-15 interchange in the US State of Utah.

The interchange will be built near Fort Lane and will replace the partial interchange with a southbound onramp.

The interchange will allow smooth traffic flow through southern Layton and northern Kaysville and reduce congestion on the city’s other two interchanges.

The project includes building new carpool lanes from Kaysville to the Layton Hill Field Road interchanges.

The project is also expected to regenerate the city’s old downtown areas.

Work is expected to finish in 16 months.
