Five municipalities in the US state of Massachusetts have deployed a web-based application to coordinate infrastructure projects.

The Envista Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application works by coordinating a number of roadway and utility construction and maintenance projects.

The map-driven service helps municipal departments and utility companies in the construction planning process, reduce street cuts in recently paved roads and save on paving costs, according to the company.

The five towns across the US to adopt the technology include Lowell, Wakefield, Lexington, Pembroke and Harwich.
