A UK Highways Agency contract, worth £2bn ($3bn), has been given to a joint venture (JV) between BAM Nuttall and Morgan Est.

The National Framework contract will see the delivery of managed motorways over the next four years, the company said.

Work involves traffic management, the construction of emergency-refuge areas, the installation of gantries, speed enforcement systems, motorway signs and CCTV monitoring.

The contract also involves the delivery of other schemes to improve capacity, safety and traffic flow, and provide driver information.

The JV will be responsible for the delivery of works to maximise England’s existing motorway network.

Morgan Est managing director Mark Cutler said the JV will be able to provide important systems installation and commissioning expertise for the Highways Agency.
