The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) in the US has reported that 63 people died in 58 traffic crashes in the state in May 2010.

The state department’s preliminary statistics said that traffic fatalities in May this year rose by 15 compared to the same month last year.

It is also expected to be five more than the five-year average for the month, according to WisDOT.

A total of 192 people are estimated to have lost their lives in Wisconsin traffic crashes during 2010.

Safety campaigns Click It and Ticket safety belt organised in Wisconsin from May 24 to June 6 will involve more than 375 law enforcement agencies.
