The European Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to issue a loan of PLN11bn ($3.59bn) to finance road construction projects in Poland.

Poland has already contracted the construction works of 1,300km of expressways and motorways, which will cost over €14bn ($18bn).

The country has also invited tenders for projects with a length of over 600km and will award contracts soon.

EIB could meet 50% of project costs while funding is also expected from the state budget, European Union subsidies and private constructors.
