Swedish firm Skanska will build a road with a bridge and a tunnel on the E39 highway between the counties of Møre og Romsdal and Sogn og Fjordane in western Norway.

The nearly 8km long road stretch will have a 6.5km Kvivs Tunnel as its main section.

Work will begin shortly and the road is expected to open in June 2012.

The $61.5m (SEK 420m) contract has been awarded by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Central Region.
