Ireland’s National Roads Authority (NRA) estimated the benefits of Dublin’s motorway network at €24bn ($29bn).

The government body said construction of the motorway links cost about €8bn ($9.8bn).

The motorway network, which connects Dublin to other cities such as Belfast, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford, is scheduled for completion by this year end.

NRA chief executive Fred Barry called for a multi-year plan to upgrade the remaining two-thirds of the national road network, according to irishtimes.com.
