Fulton Hogan Construction has won a contract to build the A$74.6m ($73.6m) Dingley Arterial Road connection in Melbourne, Australia.

Work will soon begin on the new 3.5km four-lane divided road connection, which will run from Keysborough, connecting Westall Road with the Dandenong bypass.

The project includes a new walking and cycling path, connecting popular tracks along Westall Road, the Dandenong Bypass and the EastLink Trail.

The road link has been identified as a priority project in the Victorian Transport Plan to improve east-west transport connections and accessing the developing industrial areas around Keysborough.

The project is the next stage in developing a continuous 19km link between Warrigal road, Moorabbin and the South Gippsland freeway at Dandenong South.

The road link will open for traffic by 2013.
