INRIX Traffic application

Inrix, a provider of traffic information and intelligent driving services, will supply real-time traffic updates to drivers during the London Olympics to help provide smoother routes and congestion prevention.

As the primary source of traffic and travel information on TV and radio across the nation, Inrix will offer drivers tools to help them use the fastest routes and avoid travel delays, as well as select the best modes of travel during the games.

The company is offering a free application called INRIX Traffic for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone that will update travellers with the latest traffic updates and help them determine less congested routes.

The application also extends its functionality by providing traffic forecasts for the roads, while the iPhone version can also be used to send arrival times through email and text.

Inrix Travel radio will provide traffic condition reports on most of the commercial radio stations across the UK and will also supply information on demand to travellers using different transportation modes.

The services are available 24×7 for all modes of transportation, including road, rail, sea and air, and the radio services can be either downloaded on smartphones or listened to online.
