Bosnia’s Directorate for Motorways has received two loans totaling €255m from European banks and is expected to receive €240m more by the end of 2009 for constructing motorways in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A total of 117km of roads, which are a part of Corridor VC, will be constructed in Federal Bosnia and Herzegovina by 2013, World Highways reports.

The construction of four 65km roads will be completed from 2009 to 2012.

However, delay in payments by the directorate to the construction is affecting the work process for these projects.

Loans of €180m and €75m were granted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank (EIB) respectively, while €240m will be granted by EIB as a second loan.
