The Qatar National Bank will fund the $30m expansion of the Nile Street in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan.

The project involves expanding the Nile Street to remove all intersections, converting the road into a high-speed street.

The project also aims to preserve the historical buildings along the street, according to Sudanese Minister of Infrastructure Hasan Abdulla Fadel Al Mowaly.

The bank’s Islamic branch in Khartoum—QNB Al Islami—will finance the project for a period of eight years.
