Commuters in the UK waste more than two days a year stuck in traffic jams, according to a new survey.

The Kia Motors’ Cleaner Driving Report has found that commuters spend 49 and a half hours on an average in non-moving traffic each year.

According to Kia at least 71% of commuters are affected by traffic jams, causing drivers to spend an average of 47 minutes per journey, including 12 minutes spent below 5mph or stationary.

44% of respondents said they were regularly late for work and 66% admitted to speeding when traffic clears.

Despite the general unhappiness of respondents, nearly 30% of those questioned still said they avoid public transport due to inconvenience and lack of privacy.
