A consortium of European cities, vehicle manufacturers and electricity providers have teamed up to submit a project proposal to the European Commission (EC) on the deployment of electromobility across Europe.

The EVA (Electric Vehicles for Advanced cities) consortium, which includes 19 European cities and regions, 17 manufacturers and 12 electricity providers, is trying to get EC funding to integrate electric vehicles in the urban environment.

With over 14,000 charging points installed in EVA cities, the proposal offers the possibility of demonstrating different vehicle-to-grid interaction scenarios and maintenance facilities.

EVA plans to establish the largest ever European demonstration on electromobility and will provide a research platform, which gathers experience from the deployment of over 9,500 electric vehicles.
