US firm Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), a Xerox Company, will design, build and install a real-time passenger information system for the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA).

The system will be installed at bus shelters along the city’s new Bus Rapid Transit line and will relay real-time transit information to message signs, MTA’s website and to smart phones.

The system will work as part of the city’s under-construction fleet management infrastructure, which will use Global Positioning System (GPS) to manage the on-time performance and schedule for MTA’s bus fleet.
