Brazil will support the construction of a 306km highway in Bolivia, costing $415m, with a loan of $332m.

The project is expected to cost over $1m per kilometre, according to worldhighways.com.

The highway link, which will connect Villa Tunari in the southwest and San Ignacio de Moxos in central Bolivia, will be built by Brazilian firm OAS.

Bolivian road management body ABC has selected firms to build three other sections of the highway.

The project has a budget of $252m and is likely to be completed in four years.
