The Moroccan Minister of Equipment and Transport Karim Ghellab said the country’s motorway network will total 1,417km by June 2011.

Ghellab said the total investment in the network will amount to about 38 billion dirhams ($4.6bn).

The highway programme involves building new connections, motorways and highways, according to afrol.com.

Morocco is expected to have a network of 1,800km of highways connecting its major cities by 2015.
