China Communications Construction through its subsidiary CCCC Second Harbor Engineering has won a CNY1.9bn ($280m) contract to build a highway through China.

The project will involve a highway that links two cities Conghua to Dongguan in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, according to tradingmarkets.com.

The 31km highway is expected to have a 33.5m-wide subgrade, which is designed for vehicles with a maximum speed of 100km per hour.

Work on the subgrade, roadbed, tunnels and supporting environmental protection facilities for a section of the highway is expected to be completed in 29 months time.
