Construction of Vietnam’s longest expressway, Noi Bai-Lao Cai, has started. The project is meant to enhance the socio-economic development in the region.

It is a part of building the Kunming-Hai Phong corridor, linking Hà Nai and Hai Phòng to the Kunming–Hà Khau Expressway.

The project is expected to facilitate trade exchanges between Vietnam and China, according to the official website chinhphu.vn.

The Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) is the investor, and the contract is awarded to Posco Engineering and Construction of Korea.

The total investment is estimated to be around VND 20,000 billion.
