The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) in the US has awarded a $415m design-build contract to a Fluor-led joint venture for the last phase of the State Highway 161 Tollway in the Dallas County.

The Phase 4 section involves work on two tolled lanes that run in each direction from north of Interstate 30 to Interstate 20 over 6.5 miles.

The contract also includes work on multi-level interchanges that will be located at both interstate highways.

The section is expected to be complet by 2012. Once open, the total toll road will stretch 11.5 miles from State Highway 183 to Interstate 20.

Work will be carried out by Fluor and Balfour Beatty Infrastructure under a 60:40% joint venture called Prairie Link Constructors.
