Traffic accidents in UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi has decreased by 21% in first three months of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.

Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Department director Colonel Hussain Ahmad Al Harthi said 93 people have died this year in road fatalities, against 118 in the same period in 2009.

There is also a 7% reduction in the number of cases with serious injuries from 132 in 2009 to 123 this year, according to gulfnews.com.

Sudden swerves, speeding, negligence and distracted driving were cited as the major causes for these accidents.
