Capita Symonds has been awarded a contract to develop UK Transport for London’s (TfL) new highways asset management system.

Under the five-year contract, with a possible five-year extension, Capita will provide TfL with a faster and more efficient system for highways asset management.

The new system will enable TfL to bring improvements in highways asset management over the lifetime of the project and beyond.

The web-based system allows highways maintenance contractors to effectively manage and maintain highways assets including carriageways, footways, cycle routes, drainage, structures.

Capita Symonds’ innovations team has already begun work on the fully managed service, which is expected to go live later this year.
