A legislation to allow two huge toll projects in the Seattle metro area was passed in Washington.

The projects approved are for state route 520 (WA520) floating bridge replacements and for state route 99 (WA99) Alaskan Way toll tunnel.

The law will allow doubledeck two-on-two lane toll tunnel to be bored under the Seattle central business district for replacing the troubled Alaskan Way viaduct.

Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will begin tolls systems on the 520 bridge and plans to issue a request for proposals.

WSDOT will use an all-electronic toll system with dynamic pricing to manage traffic and to begin an early revenue stream for the construction of a tolled replacement span.
