Image Sensing Systems - Autoscope Video Vehicle DetectionImage Sensing Systems, Inc. combines expertise in image processing, hardware and software engineering and communications to develop AutoscopeŽ video detection systems for advanced traffic management and control applications. With equipment supplied for over 50,000 cameras in more than 55 countries, we are a global leader in video detection for management and safety systems for highways, bridges, tunnels and intersections. Autoscope products provide transportation managers the means to reduce roadway congestion, improve safety and security, gain cost efficiencies and assist in roadway planning. As part of its global strategy, ISS has a number of key alliances. Econolite Control Products, Inc., manufactures, markets, and distributes Autoscope systems in the Americas. The fully-owned subsidiary Flow Traffic Ltd., with offices in Hong Kong and China, markets and supports Autoscope systems throughout the Asia-Pacific region. ISS Europe Ltd., with offices in the United Kingdom and Poland, markets and supports Autoscope systems in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Together, ISS and its partners offer an unmatched combination of high-performance video detection solutions and experienced local support. INTRODUCING AUTOSCOPE TERRAWelcome to a new generation of Autoscope products based on Terra Technology. Terra, meaning "earth," is our name for the latest advancement in high quality traffic information designed to increase the effectiveness of global transportation systems. Autoscope Terra products are technologically sophisticated yet simple to setup and operate to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently on roadways worldwide. Autoscope Terra Technology combines state-of-the-art advances in digital video image signal processing, broadband communications and system-on-chip (SoC) processors to add versatility and boost processing performance. Here are just some of the benefits:
URBAN TRAFFIC CONTROLThe Autoscope system is a trusted name in junction control around the world, working with SCATS, SCOOT, NEMA, 170/179, 2070, and virtually any other signal controller. The Autoscope system is easily configured to handle many urban traffic applications: vehicle presence, queue detection, vehicle counts, turning movements, red light runner detection, flow monitoring, stopped vehicles, and wrong way vehicles. HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGESAutoscope systems are integrated into many traffic management systems worldwide. A developer's kit facilitates software integration, enabling the retrieval of traffic data, event alarms, and video images. These systems depend on the accuracy of the Autoscope system when managing traffic along highways to provide: flow monitoring, congestion detection, automated incident detection, ramp metering, variable speed limits, road works safety, and journey time estimation. TUNNELS Autoscope systems can quickly signal an alarm when incidents occur, enabling fast response by the operator for tunnel efficiency and safety. Pedestrians, debris, smoke/fire, stopped vehicles, slow traffic, slow vehicles, wrong way vehicles and flow monitoring can be detected and managed with the Autoscope video detection system. SAFETY AND SECURITY Safety and security have become top priorities in today's world. Stopped vehicles in prohibited areas, vehicles illegally driving the wrong way, and unauthorized entry in restricted areas can be automatically detected with the Autoscope system. TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSISIn addition to real-time traffic management, traffic data from Autoscope systems can be used for evaluation and long-term planning. Data can be collected from permanent installations on a regular basis or from portable systems gathering survey data.
