APCOA Parking manages car parks in city and town centres, shopping centres, hospitals, railway stations and airports. We provide on-street parking enforcement services in towns and cities. We also supply related services including school crossing patrols within on-street parking contracts, hospital security within hospital parking contracts, and community wardens who help to bridge the gap between the police and local authorities.

We are enterprising – we manage a number of car parks which were built originally because we saw the need, arranged finance on behalf of the land owners (public sector and private), and co-ordinated their planning and construction. ON-STREET PARKING ENFORCEMENT

In 1991 we won the UK's first local authority tender for on-street parking enforcement, in Westminster, and have continued to pioneer the benchmark for how contracts should be run today.

Not long after our first on-street contracts we expanded our portfolio to include vehicle clamping, removal and pound services.

In the London borough of Southwark we are responsible for managing the UK's first vertically-integrated total on-street parking solution covering: on-street parking enforcement, housing estate parking enforcement, clamping and removals, car pound, notice processing, parking shop and school crossing patrols (lollipop people).

AIRPORT CAR PARKS

We were the first to link license plate recognition systems with pre-booking and vouchers for airport car parks. We are responsible for managing the largest block parking airport car park in Europe.

HEALTH SECTOR PARKING

In UK hospital parking we have pioneered the concept of fully-integrated parking solutions, including the funding, design and construction of a multi-storey car parks that integrate patient and visitor access.

Furthermore, we were the first to integrate hospital security and parking management functions and, more recently, to integrate both of these functions with local authority CCTV monitoring.

GENERAL CAR PARKING INNOVATIONS

• We were the first parking enforcement contractor to achieve ISO quality accreditation
• We were the first enforcement contractor to be awarded a contract under the office of the Deputy Prime Minister's 'Single Tier' workforce requirement
• We were the first contractor to carry out trials with the latest cashless payment systems for on and off-street parking
• We are the only parking contractor with in-house training programmes which have achieved Institute of Learning Management (ILM) accredited certification
• We were the first on-street contractor to receive Investors in People (IiP) accreditation
• We are the first on-street contractor to introduce team-led parking enforcement, with the new APCOA Blueprint management system
• We are the first parking contractor to introduce conflict management and drama based training for parking attendants
