TDC Systems Wins £1.8m Contract for High Speed Weigh-in-Motion in SaudiQ-Free UK
The Ministry of Transport for Saudi is committed to improving road safety and for protecting bridges and the highways from the damage caused by overweight vehicles.
In support of these objectives, the TDC Systems' weigh-in-motion system (WIM), which comprises the industry standard HI-TRAC® 100+, the HI-TRAC® Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera and the Kistler Lineas quartz WIM sensors, will be deployed to provide a comprehensive tool for overweight targeting and enforcement.
The WIM sensors are installed in the road at strategic sites, and each time an overloaded vehicle is detected, the information collected is used to divert the vehicle into the weighing station for inspection and enforcement.
The overall project will be installed in three phases and the first phase is planned to start in February this year.
This prestigious contract adds another client to a growing list and further reinforces TDC's position as one of the world's leading suppliers of weigh-in-motion systems.
TDC Systems will deliver and manage this project in partnership with the reputable Shibh Al Jazirah Contracting Company whose head office is located in Riyadh.
